Tracking Mileage

Last updated About 1 month ago

Add drives manually or let us log them for you with automatic mileage tracking (Auto Track), available only on the mobile app.

Auto Tracking uses GPS to log the route you actually take from point A to Point B.

  1. Tap the "Drives" tab

  2. Toggle "Enable Auto Track"

  3. Tap "Enable Auto Drive Log" and accept the three prompts: location, background location, and motion. Choose "Precise" and "Always" on iPhone, or "Allow all the time" on Android

  4. Start driving

Easy Expense detects when you start driving and logs the drive for you. Logged drives wait for you to review them instead of going straight to the "Drives" tab, much like transactions from synced bank accounts or synced emails.

  1. Tap the "Drives" tab

  2. Tap "New Drives"

  3. Swipe right for "Business", left for "Personal"

  4. To edit a drive first, tap the pin and car icons at the bottom of the card

Drives are reviewed one month at a time. Tap "Jump to month" to switch months.

You can also skip or delete a drive review. Deleted drive reviews cannot be restored

Swiping left classifies the drive as "Personal". Swiping right classifies the drive as "Business" if no default classification is set. To pick a different classification, tap the car icon, then tap "Rate"

Export a CSV of your drives for any date range. The file is emailed to you rather than downloaded to your phone.

  1. Tap the "Dashboard" tab or tap the gear icon

  2. Tap "Download Data"

  3. Select "Excel/CSV"

  4. Set the date range

  5. Tap "Advanced Options" to split the data by user or include images

  6. Tap "Email CSV"

This file covers expenses, income and drives together. For drives on their own, use the steps below.
